OPINION – Enter Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, Buhari’s new Chief of Staff

Prof. Ibrahim gambari, Buhari's Chief of Staff.

How the Gambaris who are Fulanis stole Ilorin from the Yoruba Nation

By Femi Fani-Kayode
Contrary to popular belief and despite his second name, “Agboola”, this man is NOT a son of the south west or an Oduduwan but a Fulani Prince from the Royal house in Ilorin.
He is a descendant of Alimi. He is a Gambari. And to cap it all his brother, Emir Ibrahim Kolapo Sulu- Gambari, is the present Emir of Ilorin.
His forefathers stole our sacred Oduduwan lands, took our throne, carved up and divided our Empire, enslaved our people and have persecuted our leaders in Ilorin for the last 200 years denying them of their most basic liberties and rights.
And worse of all they have done this with the full blessing and support of the Sokoto Caliphate and the Sultan of Sokoto.

With the appointment of Gambari as the President’s Chief of Staff, for the first time in our history, we have a Fulani President and a Fulani Chief of Staff both serving a Fulani Government with a Fulani agenda.
This has never happened before and very soon the results will be self-evident. To make matters worse Gambari is himself a hardliner and he was Buhari’s Foreign Minister in 1984 when the latter was military Head of State. He served a tyrant and a dictator before and he is serving a tyrant and a dictator again.
And he served not just ANY tyrant and dictator but Nigeria’s greatest military tyrant and dictator and now he is set to serve Nigeria’s greatest civilian tyrant and dictator.
Unlike his predecessor in office the late Abba Kyari who was a Shuwa Arab, Gambari is a Fulani. His only interest throughout his distinguished career as a career diplomat was to do nothing but further and protect the interest and hegemonic agenda of the Caliphate in Nigeria and to justify and rationalise its greed, brutality, barbarity and excesses before the civilised world in various international fora.
Now he has come to help establish and entrench Buhari’s Islamisation and Fulanisation agenda. We welcome him and we will engage him in battle.
Abba Kyari has gone. A hardline Islamic fundamentalist and Fulani irredentist has now taken over his job. Nigerians will see the difference.

For those of us that have been in the struggle to liberate our people from the tyranny of Buhari for the last five years it is “game on” and “back to the trenches”.
The ceasefire is over and the war against ethnic and religious bondage and against injustice, subjugation, domination, nepotism, servitude and slavery has started again. May the best man win.

Anirah, combative Delta Assembly member risks party sanctions over belligerence

Hon. Felix Anirah of Delta State House of Assembly.

Belligerent member of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Felix Anirah may soon face sanctions from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) if he fails to show decorum and follow established internal party rules.

This is the position of the party in Delta State which has expressed concern over the legislator’s “use of provocative language and inciting vituperations in recent times.”

A statement signed by the PDP Publicity Secretary in the state, Dr. Ifeanyi M. Osuoza, made available to banneronlinenews.com stated that Anirah’s “actions and attacks in relation to the internal affairs of the party, have not only become hostile and confrontational but are now totally unacceptable, as the PDP views them to be in complete disregard of the established structures and laid down appropriate channels for aggrieved and respectable members of the party to follow, in seeking clarification or redress on issues.”

PRESS RELEASE

12th May, 2020

DELTA PDP CALLS CHIEF FELIX ANIRAH TO ORDER; ADVISES HIM TO EXHIBIT DISCIPLINE OR FACE DISCIPLINARY ACTION

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, has expressed deep displeasure and serious concern over the attitude of the member representing Sapele Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Chief (Hon.) Felix Anirah, especially his use of provocative language and inciting vituperations in recent times, on party matters.

The Delta PDP wishes to call Chief Anirah to order and inform him that his actions and attacks in relation to the internal affairs of the party, have not only become hostile and confrontational but are now totally unacceptable, as the PDP views them to be in complete disregard of the established structures and laid down appropriate channels for aggrieved and respectable members of the party to follow, in seeking clarification or redress on issues.

The party notes with utter dismay, that Chief Anirah has not followed the party rules but has instead, set out on a most ignoble journey of disparaging party members with whom he has personal grievance(s) on social media and other media channels. This is indecorous and he is urged to either restrain himself forthwith
from any further untoward act or inflammatory comments or face disciplinary action.

As a party man, a political figure and public officer, Chief Anirah is very much aware that the Constitution of the party is the ultimate document which defines, directs and resolves all party matters and as such, should know better by subscribing and submiting himself to tenets of our constitution and comporting himself with greater decency and decorum in his public activities.

The party hereby states categorically that, in line with our constitution, Chief Anirah and indeed any other recognized members of the party, has the right to aspire, desire and contest for any position or office in the party executive at any level, but the Constitution also clearly stipulates the processes through which the election of officers in the party shall be conducted.

The Constitution also states unequivocally that disciplinary measures will be applied when party members, by their actions or otherwise, infringe on the rights, intimidate or disparage other interested aspirants or contestants from aspiring to the same positions and  the party will not hesitate to invoke disciplinary action on any member who violates the Constitution either by verbal subterfuge, unnecessary intimidation or irresponsible provocation.

Chief Anirah is further advised to understand that the PDP is a party of men and women who take great pride in exhibiting party discipline as a virtue and the least attitude that is expected from him, as a leader in the party and representative of his people, is to uphold party discipline and respect the supremacy of our party constitution, especially in matters that involve internal party affairs, otherwise the party will be compelled to refer his actions and comments to the disciplinary committee for appropriate interpretation as his diatribes amounts to gross assault to the sensibilities all well-meaning party leaders across the State.

We advise the member representing Sapele Constituency and indeed all other members of the party fanning embers of discord and discontent over internal party matters, to be properly guided by the Constitution and conduct themselves with greater restraint, especially on the social media space in the collective interest and well being of the party in the State.

A word, they say, is enough for the wise.

PDP! Power to the People.

BREAKING - Protesters storm Delta Assembly Complex over new tax bill; insist on public hearing

Protesters with placards at the entrance to the Delta State House of Assembly
today.

By Iteveh Ekpokpobe

A coalition of Chairmen and members of several Civil Society groups in Delta State today stormed the gates of the Delta State House of Assembly Complex, calling on the House to ensure public hearing on a bill for a law to establish the Delta State Internal Revenue Service and its Board and other matters connected therewith.

The group led by the Director General, Conference for the Actualisation of Human Rights, Barrister Omes Ogedegbe, urged the State Parliament to take a cue from their federal counterparts who halted the accelerated process of the bill on infectious diseases upon public outcry for failing to conduct a public hearing.

According to them, inherent in the bill are provisions that empower the executioner of the law to invade the houses and properties of Deltans for the purpose of carrying out assessments.

In a statement jointly signed by Leaders  of the CSOs including, Executive Director, Value Rebirth and Empowerment Initiative, Comr. Edewor Ogedegbe; Chairman, Spy-In, Delta State, Comr. Efemena Umukoro; Coordinator, Civil Right Council, Comr. Emmanuel Agbubi; National Coordinator, Ijaw Peoples Development Initiatives, Comr. Ozobo Austin, and State Chairman, Confab for Human Right, Comr. Sunday Atiku, Deltans have been urged to join the march for the suspension of the bill to ensure due process.

The protesters lamented that the House of Assembly was fast losing its honour for passing, in just one sitting the Delta State Public Procurement Bill.

"We must wake up and be vigilant otherwise these current Assembly men would be a tool for smuggling of obnoxious laws into our polity. Deltans must rise up to demand that the bill be suspended until the atmosphere is ripe for same to go through Public Hearing., the statement read.

The Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Ochor Ochor, who was on ground to receive the statement of the protesters, said he would communicate the letter to the House even as he assured them of the House commitment to due process.

Delta Speaker, Oborevwori assaults press freedom, bans Journalist from covering Assembly’s proceedings, as law makers set to pass controversial Internal Revenue Bill

Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Delta Speaker.

There is concern that the Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly may have assaulted press freedom following a directed that a journalist, Mr. Iteveh Ekpokpobe should not be allowed to cover proceedings of the Assembly.

The directive is said to been given following discomfort over the breaking of the news on the intent to pass into Law the Delta State Internal Revenue Service Bill, 2020,  written by Mr. Ekpokpobe and so earned him the wrath of the Speaker who is said to have wielded the big stick and banned the journalist from accessing the spectators’ gallery of the State Assembly Complex.

In a telephone chat with the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Mr. Dennis Out, the CPS denied that any journalist was banned from covering the Assembly. He said the Assembly had taken measures to prevent mass gatherings in the Complex in the wake of the covid-19 pandemic, pointing out that at no time was any journalist banned from entering and covering proceedings of the Assembly.

However, Mr.Iteveh         Ekpokpobe, who was at the State House of Assembly at 9.40am this morning for plenary was denied entry as the door to the spectators’ gallery was locked.

It was gathered that the Speaker ordered specifically that the journalist should not be allowed into the Chamber.

Narrating his ordeal, Iteveh described the act as dictatorial and reeking of highhandedness in every material particular.

He said: "A clear conscience fears no accusation. It shows that the House led by Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori is not comfortable with truth. These are the kind of leaders we have in Delta State; those with intent to subject Deltans to slavery.

"I know the ban is not unconnected with a story I wrote last week. The bill is an executive bill. It will cost the house little or nothing to organise a public hearing. I don't understand the rationale behind the speedy consideration. The House is obviously a rubber stamp especially under the incumbent leadership of Oborevwori," he stressed.

The ban cannot be unconnected to a news story published on the perfected plans by the House to pass into law, the Delta State Internal Revenue Service Bill, 2020, without due process of organising a public hearing to get inputs from relevant stakeholders.

The bill which was introduced on the floor of the House for the first time on Thursday, 30, April 2020, through a letter from the Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, passed first and second reading on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.

However, the bill was committed to the Special Committee on Bills and Public Accounts Committee by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, with directive to submit their report today, Tuesday May 12, 2020.

The bill is expected to be passed into law today without due process of public input despite clamours for public hearing by critical stakeholders.

Meanwhile, former Director General, Delta State Traffic Management Agency (DESTMA), Chief Stephen Dieseruvwe, has in the wee hours of today joined voices calling for the House of Assembly to get public inputs on the bill.

His position was contained in a statement titled, "A Call For Public Hearing Before The Passage Of The Bill On The Establishment Of The Delta State Internal Revenue Service Board."

"Following the protest by public and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) on the Control of Infectious Diseases Bill, 2020 (NCDC Bill), resulted in the House of Representatives agreeing to a public hearing for the sake of transparency and accountability.

"In the same vein, following the dissenting voices of the public and Delta CSOs, I respectfully call on the Speaker and members of the Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), in a bid to be transparent and accountable to Deltans, should take a cue from the decision of the House of Representatives and conduct a public hearing on the proposed Bill on the Establishment of the Delta State Internal Revenue Service Board before it's passage into law," he stated.

Observers believe that the Speaker’s directive to ban a journalist is an illegal act, as doing so is an infringement of Section 39 (1) of the 1999 Constitution that he swore to uphold without fear and discrimination.

By denying the journalist access to cover the proceedings of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oborevwori has assaulted pre3ss freedom by interfering with the journalist’s right to “receive and impart ideas and information,” which the Constitution guarantees.

PRESS RELEASE - SMLF asks all Southern and Middle Belt Nigerians to be vigilant

Southern Middle Belt Leaders.

Leaders of the Southern And Middle Belt forum are outraged at the complacency of the Nigerian Security Forces at the invasion of their areas by teenagers from far Northern Nigeria hidden in containers and trailers in spite of the ban of interstate movements by the President, the Northern Governors Forum and all the Governors in the South and Middle Belt. This ominous development is coming after Boko Haram threatened openly three weeks ago, that they were going to take their battle against Nigeria to the South East and South South. Very worrisome in this development is the quietness of the National Security organizations, the National Covid-19 Committee and the Presidency since this story broke out.

This development has brought about very strong suspicions amongst our people regarding the aim of the deployment of these young men. Their capacity to escape all border security checks until they reach many States in the South and Middle Belt points to a strong collaboration. God forbid that the Boko Haram threat is being surreptitiously executed. We will certainly not fold our arms and allow massive influx of youths who have no reason to flout extant laws on interstate movements, no pressing National engagement in our areas, no verifiable occupation, no tests for Covid-19 and no pre-arranged accommodation, to come and forcibly occupy our forests and perhaps prosecute the threat of Boko Haram.

The silence of the Federal Government in this situation is ominous. The maneuvers appear deliberately planned and provocative. We will resist any threats to our invasion and the security of our lives and property with every amount of self help available to us. To avoid further descent to an uncontrollable situation, we call on the Federal Government to publicly declare this invasion illegal, direct our National Security Organizations to flush them out NOW and ensure that they do not return.

Not too long ago General Danjuma warned us to be ready for self help. We hope that his predictions have not become inevitable and that our nation can be saved a slide into lawlessness and its disastrous consequences. A stitch in time saves nine! We call on our people to be vigilant.

Signed by:
1) Chief E K Clark for Pandef
2) Chief Olu Adebanjo for Afenifere
3) Chief John Nnia Nwodo for Ohaneze
4) Dr Bitrus Porgu for The Middle Belt Congress.

Why we demolished `Abraka’ market, by Okowa

Governor Okowa, right with Hon.Mrs. Onyemaechi Mrakpor, right, at the
demolished Abraka market.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta has said that the demolished Abraka Market in Asaba constituted security risk as it was a hideout for criminals involved in heinous crimes.

The governor gave the explanation while fielding questions from newsmen on Saturday after inspecting the demolished market and disclosed that the government had ordered the relocation of the traders in order to nip in the bud the security challenges posed by the market and give Asaba a facelift.

He assured that the large expanse of land which housed the market would be put into adequate use rather than the illicit activities hitherto going on there.

Okowa warned that any unauthorized person found there henceforth would be arrested and made to contend with the law.

He advised former traders at the market to relocate as government was strategizing on how to put the hectares of land into good use.

According to the governor, the demolition was not to witch hunt anyone but was a deliberate effort to avoid using the land as den of crime and criminality.

He sued for peace and unity among residents of the state, and assured that his administration would continue to take decisions that would be to the advantage of all.

"The place was such that it was already creating a security problem for us and unfortunately we have found that a lot of people were developing brothels in that place and beyond that, it has become a criminal hide-out and we took that decision at the state security council that we needed to ensure that we are able to secure Asaba.

"And, in our plan to secure Asaba, we agreed that there was the need for the whole of that place to be bulldozed and people there relocated to another part of Asaba; that relocation has already been done and the place has been brought down.

"Now, we are going to think through and see what development we can bring to that place to put it into good use.

"But apparently, the aim for which it was done has already been achieved; we want to put processes in plan, working with various ministries and our Delta Investment Development Agency (DIDA), to see what we are going to put in that place because it's a sizeable land in a prime location that can be used for something useful," he stated.

The governor who was accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Chiedu Ebie, Commissioner of Police, Mr Hafiz Inuwa and Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, was conducted round the demolished market by the Director-General, Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, Mrs Onyemaechi Mrakpor.

He also inspected the remodeled Koka junction on Benin-Asaba highway, with park and monument, executed by his administration through the Ministry of Urban Renewal and was conducted round the project by the Commissioner in charge of the ministry,, Chief Arthur Akpowowor.

N33bn NEMA fraud: PDP queries Osinbajo, demands prosecution of ex-NEMA DG Yunusa Maihaja

Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Vice President of Nigeria.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to come clean on the N5.8 billion National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) scandal for which he was reportedly fingered by an investigative committee of the House of Representatives.
Mustapha Yunusa Maihaja
A statement by PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan stated that the party also charged the Buhari Presidency to immediately prosecute the sacked Director General of NEMA, Engr. Mustapha Yunusa Maihaja, who was also indicted by the House of Representatives over alleged embezzlement of N33 billion in the agency.
Ologbondiyan stated: “The PDP stands with Nigerians in rejecting this unpardonable pat in the wrist of allowing Engr. Maihaja to leave office without investigation and prosecution to recover the allegedly embezzled fund.
“Our party believes that the failure to prosecute the indicted former NEMA Director General as a ploy to shield very top officials in the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration, who are alleged to be involved in the series of scam in NEMA, while the masses, for whom the fund was meant to serve, continue to suffer neglect and untold hardships.
“The PDP insists that the sacking of Engr. Maihaja should not be used as an excuse to foreclose an investigation into the huge fraud in NEMA under Vice President Osinbajo as Chairman of Governing Board.
“The party describes the sleaze in NEMA as an indelible smear on the Buhari Presidency and charged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to immediately take in Engr. Maihaja for questioning and if found wanting, prosecution.
“The party notes that the Vice President had failed to provide cogent response to the report of the House of Representatives on the N33 billion NEMA fraud in addition to allegations that the N5.8 billion was withdrawn from the national coffers, while he was acting President, without legislative consent and expended without recourse to extant due process, procurement and contract rules.
“The PDP recalled that the House of Representatives had exposed that while the fund was claimed to have been expended for procurement of grains under the emergency intervention on food security in the North East, none of the six states of the Northeast received any grain from the so called emergency intervention by NEMA.
“The legislative house had also exposed that there was no evidence that the World Food Programme (WFP) received the 5000 metric tons of rice, which NEMA claimed to have bought and donated to WFP for distribution to victims of insurgency in the region.
“Indeed, the failure of the Buhari Presidency to prosecute Engr. Maihaja, despite his indictment by the House of Representatives, had raised serious issues of alleged complicity in high places, for which Nigerians expect Prof. Osinbajo, as Chairman of Governing Board of the agency, to come clean.
“It is even more saddening that the looted fund is part of the money set aside for emergency response such as provision of palliatives and other essentials for the poor masses to mitigate the hardships that would be occasioned by emergencies such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The PDP therefore charges the EFCC to use the report of the House of Representatives as a working document and immediately invite Engr. Maihaja for questioning on the stolen funds as well as further expose top officials of the Buhari administration allegedly involved in the huge fraud in NEMA”.
