Apologise to Deltans, Okowa urges Ogboru, Emerhor

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state on Tuesday asked his opponents in the April 11, 2015 elections who lost at the Supreme Court to apologise to Deltans for taking the people for a ride with their unnecessary litigations.
Okowa who made the call while speaking to newsmen after the Supreme Court decision in upholding his victory as Governor of Delta State said both Emerhor and Ogboru knew they did not win the elections, nonetheless, the two politicians decided to take their appeals to the Elections Petition Tribunal, the Court of Appeal, and then to the Supreme Court, subjecting Deltans to needless frustration.
“It is time to forgive and move on, I also believe that my opponents, Mr. O’tega and Mr. Ogboru, should apologise to all Deltans, because, they knew the people’s choice but, they just wanted to go through this legal process,” he said.
“I have forgiven them but, I think they need to apologise to Deltans because, they distracted the people,” Mr. Okowa stated.
The Justices of the Supreme Court, in a unanimous decision, described the appeal against Dr. Okowa as an abuse of the court process.
