The Delta State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party,
PDP, has commended the emergence of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as the new
Chairman, South-South Governors Forum, describing it as an appropriate
political decision that is good for the region at this present time.
Celebrating the announcement of Governor Okowa's new assignment
in the South-South region, the State Publicity Secretary, Delta PDP, Dr.
Ifeanyi Osuoza, in a statement titled “Okowa’s emergence a chairman,
South-South governors’ forum is good for the region – Delta PDP’, noted that
the unanimous selection of the Delta State Governor to handle this major
regional responsibility, will not only give the South-South the desired quality
leadership required to stabilize the zone but will also define a clear
political direction for the district going forward.
Dr. Osuoza's statement reads: "We received the news of the
emergence of our leader, His Excellency, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa
(Ekwueme), the Executive Governor of Delta State, as the new Chairman,
South-South Governors Forum, with great excitement and a huge sense of
satisfaction.
“This uplifting news of the elevation of our Governor and
leader, Senator, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, did not come to us as a surprise, given the
outstanding administrative track record and the admirable political savvy of a
man whose stature and pedigree has grown in leaps and bounds over the years, as
