The Confederation of
African Football (CAF) has fined Nigeria 5,000 Dollars for fans misconduct
during its first leg 2017 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier match on
June 13.
The decision of the continent’s football governing body was released on its website in Abuja on Tuesday.
It said that the decision was reached at its disciplinary board meeting on Sept. 20.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that fans rushed into the pitch to celebrate the Super Eagles’ second goal in the match played at the Kaduna Stadium, Kaduna.
The encounter ended in 2-0 in favour of the Eagles.
The victory placed Nigeria is the second position in Group G with four points behind Egypt which has six points. (NAN)
