Member representing Ethiope
East State Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Chief
Evans Ochuko Ivwurie, has commended the Deputy Speaker, Delta State House
of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi, for being an exceptional Deltan,
and an exemplary leader that personifies effective leadership.
Rt. Hon. Osanebi |
Presenting the award to the Deputy
Speaker, Hon. Ivwurie revealed that the Deputy speaker, is a leader who has
practically demonstrated capacity, humility and a source of inspiration to
others.
"The Deputy Speaker and my
boss is a man that always gives helping hand to everybody, irrespective of your
local government of origin, colour or political affiliation. He's a
supportive law maker, he believes help should be given to those who need help,
he has provided ladder for many to access power, and has kept the ladder for
others to climb", Ivwurie said.
He further revealed that the
leadership makeup of Friday Osanebi is different and his commendation on the
personality of the Deputy Speaker is open to research. Ivwrie declared: "This
is a reserved statement, the difference is clear. Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi
is the greatest giver in the Delta State House of Assembly Asaba, not that he's
the richest, but he has first offered himself for effective service to
humanity, just access him, let him know the challenge, and he will do his best
to help you any time. That's what I like in him. He nurtures and builds, he's
my boss and a leader who is ready to serve. He personifies effective and
exemplary leadership. He loves his job and helps his people."
Earlier, the publisher, Oasis
Magazine, Mr. Daniel Umukoro said that the choice of Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi
for the "2015 Man of the Year Award" was as a result of his love for
the down trodden in the society and his genuine passion for human capital
development.
The Deputy Speaker, who is called,
"The Empowerment Master" through his foundation, The Friday Osanebi
Foundation, last month dolled out N10million to 100 students of Anioma
extraction, and other non Deltans in his 2016 scholarship scheme to facilitate
the rising of giants in various strata of human life.
Truly great leaders are hard to
come by, but it seems everyone thinks they’re one. A true leader, however, is
easy to spot. On that same note, it’s also easy to spot someone who isn’t quite
up to the level they pretend to be. Defining the difference between the two is
also fairly easy, but what happens when you ask people what makes a great
leader? Oftentimes, they aren’t really sure.
The fact is, Rt. Hon. Friday
Osanebi has practically demonstrated the many ways to be a good leader, with
his character of humility, passion to serve, respect, fairness, accountability
and a model others can follow.
For the Deputy Speaker, he's just
doing what his faith teaches him and his little way to serve God and humanity.
