The 46th Meeting of
the National Council on Information (NCI) has been scheduled to hold in Asaba,
Delta State, from Wednesday October 26 to Saturday October 29, 2016.
The theme for this
year’s Council Meeting is “LEVERAGING ON INFORMATION AND DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY TO
SUSTAIN THE CHANGE AGENDA OF GOVERNMENT.”
A statement from
the State Ministry of Information signed by the Commissioner for Information,
Mr. Patrick Ukah, indicated that the Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr.
Ifeanyi Okowa, will declare the Council Meeting open on Friday October 28,
2016, at 10.00am prompt at the Event Centre, Okpanam Road,
Asaba.
According to Mr.
Ukah, the Federal Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who
is the Chairman of Council, will lead a delegation from the Federal Ministry of
Information and Culture and its parastatals to attend the three day meeting.
Other delegates
expected to attend the meeting are, state Commissioners for Information and
officials from the Ministries of Information and their parastatals from the 36
States of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The National
Council on Information is the highest policy making body for information
articulation and delivery in the country.
