Delta Govt holds 2016 Nine Lessons and Carols today


The annual festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, which is organised by the Office of the Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor, on Religious Matters, in conjunction with the Delta State Broadcasting Service will hold today at 6pm.
According to information from the office Executive Assistant to the Governor on Religious Matters, Bishop Greatman Nmalagu, this year’s event, which is always inter denominational, will hold at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, (RCCG), Provisional Headquarters, Unity Hall Area 3, by the Junior Staff Quarter, Asaba.
Bishop Nmalagu, who stressed on the significant of Christmas celebration, which marks the birth of Jesus Christ, said that the Christian practice of Festivals of Nine Lessons and Carols is very important, as it prepares the spiritual mind of Christians to welcome Christ during Christmas season.
While talking of the significance of this year’s theme, he called on Deltans not to lose hope, as it is only in Christ that the economic problems facing the country can be solved.
This year’s theme is “Jesus Christ the Perfect Solution to the Recession in Nigeria”. He said.
“The problems from the recession can be frustrating, but there is solution to the problem in our Lord Jesus Christ”.
The aide to the governor, in the press release, called on Deltans and friends of Delta to join the Governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, who will be Special Guest of Honour at the occasion, and members of the state Executive Council, elected, political, top government functionaries and captains of industries to pray for the progress of the state by attending the program.

According to the Bishop, to show the sign of the great expectation of the birth of Christ on Christmas day, the dress code for the event will be white and red.
