Oko-Aballa Road project: Okowa wants contractor on site

Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has said plans are on to construct the Oko-Aballa road despite the huge cost of such venture.
According to Governor Okowa, the road is of great importance not only to the people of Oshimili South and Ndokwa East local government areas but, Nigerians who will reap from the socio-economic activities that the construction of the road would attract.

While conceding that the state government did not embark on the construction of the road because, it will be capital intensive, Governor Okowa disclosed that Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). has awarded the contract for project and  expressed surprise that the contractor for the road project had not mobilized to site .
The governor made the disclosure Friday (02/12/16) at Obiaruku, Ukwuani local government area of Delta State during the dedication of the Cathedral Chancel, SS Paul and Mary Magdalene Nursery and Primary School and the Bishops Court by the Primate of the Anglican Communion, the Most Revd, Nicholas Okoh.
According to Governor Okowa, "the Oko/Abala road will cost several billions of naira to construct, but, we have been reliably informed that the NDDC has awarded the contract for the construction of the road; we are yet to see the contractor at site and I will work with the Senator representing Delta North to see that the road is constructed."
He also, used the occasion to state that his administration would construct the Ezionum/Abbi road in the 2017 fiscal year and used the occasion to urge Christians to prove who they are by their actions.
"Though, befitting physical structure as place of worship is good, the Church is about human beings, you (Christians) have to work on those who have not embraced Christ to do so; we must also know too that as  Christians, God hears us, but, we must call on Him in truth; don't allow people to say, 'if this is how Christians behave, I will not be one," he said, reiterating, "Christians should continue to pray for God to change the fortunes of our nation because, through our prayers, God will turn things around."
He commended the people for erecting a befitting structure for the worship of God while the Primate of Anglican Communion, Revd. Okoh in a sermon after the dedication of the Church, said, "this Chancel and everything in this building has been dedicated and for the service of God."
"God is always in this house and when you call on Him, He will answer you; nobody owns the Church, the church does not belong to any person; you can ask the Bishop any question but, you do not have right for unruly behaviour in the church; you are in the church to receive blessings, not curse; always wear the badge of humility when you enter the house of God because, it is with such that the Holy Ghost will recognize you," the Primate said.
