Group begins “Education cannot wait campaign” in Sapele, Warri


A nongovernmental organization based in Sapele Delta State, known as Rural Development and Reformation Foundation (RUDERF) in collaboration with Love Hands Ministries has concluded a one day Education Campaign Tagged “Education Cannot Wait” campaign in a walk around Sapele/Warri metropolis.
The founder of RUDERF and the initiator of the group, Miss Alero Okoroleju, explained that the campaign is about the sensitization of people in the rural community on the importance of education as well as the role they should play in the development of their community and the individual including other stakeholders that are involved in education matters through the promotion of a sustainable development goal for 2030 which will provide quality education for all.
She added that in their first phase, they are carrying out town hall meetings involving all stakeholders where they will discuss the importance of education and sensitization workshop to promote Education in the second phase while at the third phase they would be distributing school supplies to rural schools to support and encourage education for all.
Miss. Okoroleju however added that the campaign has already taken their train to Irhodo and Ajavwin, communities in Idjerhe Kingdom of Ethiope West L.G.A and Sapele where they had town hall meetings with relevant stake holders, such as teachers, parents and leaders of those communities, just as she appealed to the government, corporate organizations and spirited individuals to support them on this
laudable programme of Education cannot wait campaign through the donations of cash, school supplies  to the rural schools to support and encourage education for all.
 The walk around Sapele which had members of the foundation, the Red Cross Society, Sapele Chapter and  other Para-Military organizations commenced at the Sapele Athletic Club on Nigeria’s 56th Independence day anniversary celebration, carrying placards which bore the inscriptions, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”, “child training is a lifelong experience many begin with it, few end it”, “learning is a treasure that will follow the owner everywhere”, “tell me and I will forget, show me and I will remember”, “involve me and I will learn etc.”
Miss Okoroleju, who spoke with journalists at the Sapele Athletic club, soon after the exercise, appreciated all those who participated in the event including their sponsors and supporters; the Red Cross of Nigeria Sapele Branch; Sapele Athletic Club, Phoenix Heights Limited and others for their role in the education of the underserved children.
The group distributed flyers and handbills of “Education cannot wait campaign” as they move around with a public address system vehicle which gave glamour to the entire exercise.
