Court remands Falae's alleged abductors in prison


An Ondo State High Court on Thursday in Akure remanded the five people accused of kidnapping Chief Olu Falae, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, at the Olokuta Prison.
The accused, who were arraigned, were Abubakar Auta, Bello Jannu, Umaru Ibrahim, Masahudu Muhammed and Idris Lawal.
They were alleged to have participated in the abduction of the former Minister for Finance on Sept. 21 at his farm in Ilado, Akure North Local Government Area of the state.
The accused persons allegedly released the septuagenarian on Sept. 24 after collecting N5 million as ransom.
They were arraigned on a five-count charge of kidnapping and abducting, aiding and abetting, kidnapping, conspiracy and armed robbery.
However, all  of them pleaded not guilty to the offence when the charges were read to them.
The judge, Justice Rotimi Olamide, adjourned the case till Nov. 10 for further hearing.(NAN)
