Delta approves N400m for bursary payments
Relief is coming the way of students of Delta state origin in institutions of higher learning as the Delta state Government has approved the release of N400 million as part payment of the outstanding  bursaries for the students.
The commissioner for Higher education, Mr. Jude sinebe, with who was the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Uka, the executive Secretary of Delta state Scholarship and Bursary Board (DSSBB), Comrade Elijah Ologe and the Director of Information, Mr. Paul Osahon made this known in Asaba while briefing journalists at a post- Executive Council Meeting.
“That amount is supposed to be for over 38,000 students out of over 40,000 that applied bursary,” Sinebe said.  He said the scholarship Board has verified about 31,000 bursary applications, adding that the verification process will be on-going as a measure to check fraudulent practices by applicants for bursary.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Comrade Ologe while thanking the state government for the decision to release funds for the 2014-2015 bursaries. “Students should take advantage of the opportunity by avoiding sharp practices like double and multiple applications,” Ologe pleaded.
