New NNPC GMD, Kachikwu, Assumes Duty




KachikwuMr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu the new Group Managing Director of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) resumed duty just moments after his appointment was announced to replace Mr. Joseph Dawha..
Ohi Alegbe, Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, in a statement said that a brief handover ceremony was held at the NNPC Towers to mark the assumption of office.
Until his appointment, Mr. Kachikwu was the Executive Vice Chairman and General Counsel of Exxon Mobil (Africa).
Mr. Kachikwu, in the statement, expressed gratitude to his predecessor, Joseph Dawha, for his hard work in holding the corporation. He pledged to work assiduously in achieving the president’s growth aspiration for the oil and gas industry.
The statement noted that Mr. Kachikwu was a First Class Graduate of Law from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and the Nigerian Law School.
It added that he also had Masters and Doctorate Degrees in Law from the Harvard Law School.
