They also described
the report titled “Ibori’s Daughter,
Other Delta State Assembly Members Quarrel over DESOPADEC contract” as
the personal views of the writers.
The Forum in a
statement issued in Asaba by the Coordinator, Delta Progressive Forum (DPF),
Chief Mudiaga Okoro expressed support for the transformation agenda of the
Igbuya led House of Assembly.
“We are confident that the leadership is, and will
commit to, improving governance and continue on a path of socio-economic and
geo-political reforms” the statement signed by the Coordinator, Delta
Progressive Forum (DPF), Chief Mudiaga Okoro said.
The
leaders who accused some individuals in the state of spreading baseless report
also reflected on the tasks of maintaining openness and transparency in
government.
They
expressed surprise at the shallowness of the detractors with regards to
procurement procedures of the commission.
“To speculate without the facts can only cause people
to form wrong conclusions. The
three law makers are serving the people better.” the statement said.
They urged the lawmakers to continue making laws for
the good governance of the state and the overall benefit of the people.
“Contrary to the report, the three lawmakers are not
quarrelling and have no reason to quarrel. They are also not contractors to
DESOPADEC".
The leader who further described the lawmakers as
focused in vision and transparent in official conduct, urged them to look away from these destroyers and
get on with important matters of state
“In
any system, there are always destroyers. The lawmakers should look away from
these destroyers and get on with important matters of state, since they are
arrogant and reckless individuals pursuing their selfish agenda”.
