Oshiomhole and the rant of a drowning governor

                                                                                                                  PRESS RELEASE
We have read and followed the erratic, truculent and pugnacious vituperation of Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state in his unbridled belligerence to drag our dear Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa into his level of ghetto-dialectics.
Governor Oshiomhole has manifestly conducted himself in such a manner that reeks with foul, odoriferous demagoguery, embarrassingly diminishing his stature both literally and figuratively and dislocating himself from his revered office in some well documented instances in Bayelsa state, in the Governors forum, in his altercations with the former Minister for Finance and Co-ordinating Minister of the Economy, in his clandestine and brash politicking as the only APC S/South Governor in the run-up to the 2015 Governorship elections and most disturbingly in the inscrutable and audacious manner he seemingly mortgaged Edo state to some foreign interest; an action he is trying to replicate all over again with the foisting and imposition of a certain Godwin Obaseki, another surrogate, on the people of Edo state.
As a responsible political party, which has produced a Governor who is a brand of excellent leadership, administrative articulation, progressive dynamism, cosmopolitan eclecticism and post-modern reconciliations to political and governance interrogations, we do not take kindly to the kind of unlettered, uncultured and primitive assaults on the personality of our Governor and the leader of our political party in Delta state, as Governor Adams Oshiomhole has continuously and mischievously exhibited towards Governor Okowa.
We have, however, taken great satisfaction in the response of the Delta State Information Commissioner, Hon. Patrick Ukah to Governor Oshiomhole’s rant, but it is imperative to let the so-called Comrade Governor know that he cannot dictate to Delta PDP. He must learn to live with the fact that the PDP is one big, indestructible family and we will provide maximum moral support to our brothers in Edo State to ensure the resounding victory of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu come September 28, 2016. Indeed, he should rather be seeking ways of possibly mending his broken and fractured APC house, which now is rapidly collapsing on his head and also be prepared for the defeat that will surely be inflicted on him and his party soon.
Finally, let us state categorically that as a peace-loving State, we neither harbour militants and we most certainly do not export militants. Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is too sophisticated, responsible and strategically astute to engage in the crude and reductionist ploy of moving people around for the purpose of election. Nigeria has even grown beyond that pedestrian strategy.
Governor Oshiomhole is thus best advised, in case he gets another leadership opportunity in future, to humbly seek leadership tutorials from Governor Okowa on how to manage a diverse and complex ethno-cultural economy, create jobs for the teeming youth population, pay salaries regularly to workers, even in the face of harsh financial realities, build quality and enduring infrastructure like schools, roads, bridges spread evenly across the three senatorial zones in the state, formulate and initiate progressive developmental policies for effective and collective sectoral growth and indeed ensure prosperity for his people, as Governor Okowa is doing for Deltans, through his well-articulated S.M.A.R.T Agenda in Delta State.
As a parting shot, we would like to remind Governor Adams Oshiomhole that those whom benevolent spirits have cracked their palm kernel should be humble and grateful. He should also be mindful of the fact that he is already on his way out and is now operating on borrowed time. A word, as they say, is enough for the wise.
Signed:
IFEANYI MICHAEL OSUOZA
STATE PUBLICITY SECRETARY

PDP, DELTA STATE
