Agbassa monarch commissions self-help projects


Otovwodo (Agbassa) Community headquarter of the ancient Urhobo kingdom of Agbrha Warri, Warri South Local Government Area was in a festive mood as a state of the art ‘Edion’ was commissioned by HRM London AforkerhiItu, Orhifi Orovwagbarha Agbarha-Ideh, Ememoh II JP, the Ovie of Agbarha Kingdom, Warri just as the Oteghele Agbarha Kingdom born traditional ruler was showered with words of commendation for single headedly building the hall that is as old as the history of Agbarha kingdom Warri.
Those who hailed the traditional ruler for his unique gesture in an exclusive chat with our correspondent include: The Ohwuwe General of Agbarha Kingdom Warri, High Chief Birimi Ofogri, the elder brother of the president general of Agbarha kingdom Warri, Chief Godwin Ememu (JP), multiple Chief Emmanuel Okumagba, Commander in charge of Warri Police Area command ACP Muazu Mohammed represented by SP Ehi, Chief Osawerien Bazunu, a pioneer member of the prestigious Agbarha Warri League Mr. William Ope (Jnr), the Odo of Agbarha Kingdom Warri Chief Julius Edefiedjebre and Chief (Barr) Raphael Okene. Even the Itsekiris of Warri were not left out as the Chief Priest of Okere Itsekiri Stanley Amiwero and Owen Kwashi commended the gesture of the traditional ruler as describing the relationship between the Agbarha kingdom Warri and the Okere Itsekiri as very cordial.
Other projects rebuilt and commissioned by HRM Ememoh (II) JP include the Oniovwodo Hall, the Shrine of Owurie Deity located inside the legendary
forest in the community.

Digbori (JP) in his welcome address on behalf of the traditional ruler explained that the Edion Hall is where the highest policy making body comprised of only male in the kingdom meet from time immemorial and the hall was dilapidated and became too small hence a befitting Edion Hall became a concern to well meaning Agbarha kingdom Warri indigenes just as he hailed Orhifi for taking up the challenge of rebuilding the Edion Hall single handedly  to a modern standard.
High points of the impressive event where the cutting of tape by Orhifi Ememoh II (JP) to declare the hall open for usage and payment of homage to the saven Agbarha Kingdom Warri Communities of Otovwodo (Agbassa), Ogunu, Igbudu, Edjeba, Okurode (Ekurede Urhobo), Ukpokiti and Oteghele to the Agbarha Warri monarch who danced whole heartedly thanking God for making it possible to executing the projects for his subjects and the kingdom.
Chief Sunday Agbime and His Okurode dance Band, Udu born Urhobo ever green musical metro Sir Juju, Sir Andrew of Ujevwu and Igbe .P. Emete led the Oghwuvwe of Otovwodo (Agbassa) community six footer Jasper Osioh and Pius Akpodeta (alias Ayerevu) assisted by Okpone entertained guests to their satisfaction at the event that was blessed with a very beautiful weather.
Drinks and food were also served to the satisfaction of all at the colourful ceremony.
