Echoes of the recent Operation
Crocodile Smile embarked by the Nigerian Army, may have begun to in
the Niger Delta, where heavy exchange of gunfire is being reported between
militants and the Nigeria military.

Reports, an online newspaper says, Nembe community in Bayelsa State, one in the
oil-rich Niger Delta region of the country is currently under siege as the gun
duel is intensifying in the area.
It also said that fighter
jets have also been sighted in the skies. “Presently, the actual cause of the
gun battle is unknown,” the report said, adding that “there are scores of
deaths already recorded, including soldiers.”
