Delta unveils state’s official logo, anthem


Mr. Patrick Ukah, Honourable Commissioner for Information, Delta State says the state’s Executive Council (EXCO) has approved on official logo and the anthem for the State.

Mr Ukah said that the Delta blue circle in the Logo signifies inclusiveness and unity in diversity while the oil well / stands for the rich oil reserves and the open book with flaming heart touch depicts the fountain of knowledge that abounds in the State.
He explained that the rainforest symbol stands for the vegetation just as the sunray sign stands for rays of sunshine and hope, while the sprinter and footballer shows the state’s prowess in sporting activities.

The Commissioner stated that the colour Blue stands for wisdom, intelligence, freedom and oneness while the colour Red signifies energy, passion and courage and added that the Earth symbol represents an abundance of fertile farmland.

 Mr Ukah said an Executive Bill on the use of the Logo will soon be forwarded to the Delta State House of Assembly for consideration and passage into law.
According to the Commissioner, the Bill when passed into law will provide for the use of the Logo and Anthem in Government Official engagements, schools and other state matters.
